Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma Emission

The ICP is a dual mode inductively coupled plasma instrument which allows for both radial and axial capabilities. In the Radial mode, its sensitivity is comparable to the normal ICP analysis. In the Axial mode, lower detection limits than ICP-MS are obtained for elements such as K, Fe, Si, P, Na and Ca.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS) is a single or multi-elemental solutions analyzer using a quadrapole spectrometer as a detector system. The argon plasma torch is used to disolvate the sample and as an ion generator for the mass detector. Generally used as an ultra trace (PPB and PPT range) multi-element metals analyzer.
